POST Luxembourg switches to Fairtrade-certified workwear

09 December 2020

Committed to corporate social responsibility, POST Luxembourg provides its sales advisors with outfits manufactured in compliance with fair production and working conditions. As a result, since November 2020, all employees in the POST Courrier and POST Telecom sales network have been wearing Fairtrade-certified organic cotton vests and sweaters.

With the support of a.s.b.l. Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg, POST Luxembourg began an in-depth survey of clothing suppliers at the end of 2019. Luxembourg-based supplier Akabo was identified as the partner of choice, meeting both Fairtrade criteria, as well as quality and comfort requirements for employees.

Hjoerdis Stahl, Director of POST Courrier and Deputy managing director of POST Luxembourg explains: "In line with our CSR approach, initiated in 2012, we are aiming for responsible growth of the POST Luxembourg Group, which is not only financial, but also social and environmental. Following this first order of more than 750 pieces of Fairtrade-certified workwear for some of our employees, we are continuing to build on our momentum and are analyzing alternatives for other types of workwear."
