POST Luxembourg joins forces with Airbus to deploy the Agnet solution in Luxembourg's critical communications market

25 September 2023

In September 2023, POST Luxembourg concluded a partnership with Airbus, to introduce the MCx Agnet collaboration and mission-critical communications solution to the Luxembourg market.

Thanks to this agreement, Airbus' MCx Agnet solution will be available directly on the 5G network for POST Luxembourg's critical communications customers. In other words, public safety and government organizations, as well as local authorities and businesses, will be able to benefit from multimedia capabilities and secure communications on POST Luxembourg's 5G network.

The MCx Agnet solution offers mission-critical functionalities such as Push-to-Talk, secure instant messaging, video streaming/sharing and location-based services. These enable end-user organizations to improve their real-time understanding of the situation in the field. Tactical situational awareness enables timely, informed decision-making, enabling teams to communicate the right information to the right people at the right time. This improves collaboration and efficiency in the field.

"We are delighted to have entered into this partnership. Airbus is a leader with strong experience in the critical communications sector, involved in major European projects such as BroadWay and RRF, and with long-standing partnerships with mobile network operators in many countries and continents," explains Eric Davalo, Director Europe for Airbus Secure Land Communications. "Of course, this is only the first step, but I'm sure it will open up a whole range of opportunities for us in Luxembourg," he adds.

Cliff Konsbruck, Deputy Managing Director of POST Luxembourg and Director of POST Telecom comments: "As the leading national telecommunications operator, POST Luxembourg is entering into a strategic partnership with a European flagship in the sector, with our shared objective of creating value in the Luxembourg market. POST has invested considerable effort in rolling out its next-generation 5G mobile network, which now covers 96% of the Grand Duchy. Airbus' MCx Agnet solution integrates with POST Luxembourg's network while leveraging specific 5G features such as 'slicing', so that network capacity can be allocated and guaranteed to critical communications."

"In an environment that is changing faster every day and characterized by increasingly unprecedented security challenges and threats, POST is committed to strengthening its ability to adapt. Innovation is one of the keys to achieving this goal," explains the Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot. "This partnership with Airbus is yet another example of POST Luxembourg's determination to develop a culture of innovation at all levels of the Group, in order to create value for its stakeholders and customers."

The partnership came to fruition during a signing ceremony with the two companies at POST Luxembourg headquarters, in the presence of the Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot.
