POST Luxembourg celebrates the topping-out ceremony of its future headquarters at Luxembourg-Gare

02 April 2021

On Friday, April 2, 2021, in the presence of the Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, POST celebrated the topping-out ceremony of its future headquarters at Place de la Gare in Luxembourg, marking the completion of the structural work.

The new building will have a floor area of around 28,000 m2 (above ground), 9 floors and 4 basements, as well as an Espace POST sales outlet on the first floor.

Following demolition work on the old building, which took place from March 2018 to July 2019, the laying of the foundation stone for the future headquarters in October 2019 marked the start of construction. Inauguration of the new building is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2022.

Designed by the Metaform architectural firm, the building is conceived as a hyphen between traditional construction and a modern approach to architecture. The listed "Accinauto" facade from the 1950s has been preserved and will be joined by a new facade of vertical slats.

The building of POST's future headquarters is perfectly in line with the Group's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy, meeting the most demanding requirements in terms of sustainable development. Thanks to a cutting-edge solution using an ice tank of over 2,100 m3 and heat recovery from the neighboring POST data center, the new POST Luxembourg headquarters will be, along with POST's Weierbaach building at the Cloche d'Or, the Group's second building with no direct carbon emissions. Following on from the Mercier and Editus buildings, the POST Luxembourg Group is aiming for "Platinum" certification from DGNB - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen, the highest category of the world-renowned German classification, for the 3rd time.
